Crisis Assistance Ministry will be our 2026 race beneficiary. Crisis Assistance Ministry serves as a vital lifeline for Mecklenburg County families in financial crisis, providing the essential support and advocacy they need to regain self-sufficiency.

Since the inception of the Strides for Shelter 5K in 2016, the Canopy Housing Foundation has returned more than $242,000 from the race proceeds to several worthy local beneficiaries who are all working to address the needs of the homeless.

Hosted by icuTalks, a Charlotte-based ministry working to break the stigma around mental health and create spaces for healing and hope, this 5K promotes courage, connection, and real change.

Join us for the 19th Annual CLT Runway 5K.

This flat and fast course offers runners and walkers a unique opportunity to run one of the country's busiest airport runways. This run will take place completely on the runway and taxiways. Participants will see planes queuing up, taking off, and landing. This event is one that will be enjoyed by the whole family! You must register as a runner to participate. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. The race will be limited to 1600 participants. Proceeds from the CLT Runway 5K will help to fund Airport Opportunity Scholarships with Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) created to promote careers in aviation, as well as economic opportunities in Charlotte. The Airport scholarship will benefit students who are graduates of high schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) district and are Title 1 eligible. Each recipient will attend CPCC's Summer Bridge academic enrichment program and enroll in a two-year, career-focused degree program specific to the Aviation Department.

What better time to play dress up than at the third annual Jeepers Creepers race at Daniel Stowe Conservancy! Bust out those Halloween costumes early, sweat a little bit, and have a great time!

NEW this year: A 1 Miler on our wonderful crushed concrete trails!

Runners and walkers in the race can then enjoy free admission to The Gardens to enjoy our fall exhibit: “Scarecrow Hollow”. Be sure to bring your race bib with you!

To top it off, the 10K participants will run the 10K and longest distance race held each year at Stowe. Beautiful, flowy trails and a festive atmosphere will make this race the perfect kick off to fall and spooky szn! There may even be a few special prizes for those who really get in the mood and go all out!

After the race, while you cool down and cheer on all the participants, enjoy firepits, smores’, cold beverages, and cornhole at the Trailhead Store.

Richard laid down his life while battling a multi-­alarm fire in Pineville on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Please come out and show your appreciation and support for Pineville's fallen hero, who paid the ultimate sacrifice! Proceeds from this event benefits the Richard Sheltra Memorial Foundation which provides resources, equipment and scholarships for volunteer first responders. These were areas of great concern and empathy for Richard.

The race that started it all is back in Ballantyne.

The Isabella Santos Foundation 5K for Kids with Cancer, presented by Uwharrie Bank, holds a special place in our history. What began as a grassroots race in Ballantyne helped launch a movement that has since raised more than $19 million for rare pediatric cancer research and family support.

Now, the race returns during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month — bringing our community together once again to celebrate progress, honor the children we fight for and continue pushing the mission forward.

Whether you’re running for a personal best, walking with friends or cheering from the sidelines, this event is about community, impact and hope.

In addition to the 5K and a one-mile Fun Run, the event will feature outdoor activities the whole family will enjoy including a kids zone, bites and brews, local vendors, a silent auction and so much more!

All proceeds will fuel research, clinical trials and family support programs at Levine Children’s Hospital and Novant Hemby Children’s Hospital.

Join us for the 13th Annual South End Shuffle 5K & Mile Run

Presented by Skufca Law, Wooden Robot Brewery, and Beacon Partners, the 5K starts on W Summit Ave in front of Wooden Robot Brewery and heads into Charlotte's South End and Wilmore neighborhoods. There is also a 1 Mile Run for those looking for a shorter distance.

Registration includes a finisher medal and beer (21+) from WoodenRobot Brewery or ice cream for those under 21. Shirts included for the 5K, and available as an upgrade for the 1 Mile.

The “Fit 2 Fly 5K” is in its sixth year as the airport’s only run on our 5,500-foot runway!

The cafe serves as an extension program of Charlotte Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization that provides free, residential recovery services to men and women struggling with substance abuse and homelessness.

Graduates of Charlotte Rescue Mission's 120-day recovery program have the opportunity to transition back into the community through the Community Matters Cafe Life Skills Program. This fantastic 5k course winds through some of the most beautiful and iconic avenues in Charlotte’s historic Dilworth neighborhood. And did we mention it’s flat and fast?

Tour de Turns is an original and unique charity bicycle ride and walk that benefits Nourish Up (formerly Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays, Inc.) Since 2012, the event has netted more than $500,000 to help turn the corner on local hunger!

This endurance-based run is designed for both seasoned trail runners and those new to the world of ultras, offering an inclusive space to push limits, build community, and experience the beauty of trail running - without the intimidation factor.

Run, walk, or push your stroller and join us for the fifth annual Love Week 5K that will benefit Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region! This event will start and end at Elevation Church - Lake Norman. This is a free race for all participants! This Ballantyne Road Race tradition continues on Saturday, May 30, 2026, marking the 22nd annual Run! Ballantyne 8K, 5K and Fun Run presented by Northwood Office. With over 1,400 participants in 2024, this YMCA signature event is one of the largest road races in the Ballantyne area. Hit the pavement and make your footprints count in support of the YMCA Better Us Campaign that gives youth an opportunity to play, learn and grow in a safe and thriving environment.

Run! Ballantyne, serves as the second race in the 2026 YMCA Race Series. With multiple routes designed with the Ballantyne Corporate Park and new greenway connections, this event is perfect for runners and walkers of all levels and ages - beginner to expert. Finishers will receive a custom die-cast finisher medal after crossing the finish line and everyone can enjoy a post-race party hosted by a live DJ at The Amp at the Ballantyne Bowl.

As a youth-sports non-profit, SwimMAC has a unique take on your average 5K that places a specific focus on your younger athletes. The 5K will have awards for the fastest boys and girls in the below age groups:

10 & Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18

We will also have age group awards for adults and masters as well so whether you're running or walking, parents should consider registering and make this an event the entire family participates in to kick off Memorial Day Weekend. You can also register your youngest athletes for the 0.4 mile Fun Run. While there are no winner awards for the Fun Run, participants will receive an event shirt and bib to make sure they are included in the fun!
