Bridge the Gap to Health

Join us for the 24th annual Quincy Medical Group Bridge the Gap to Health Race, an event that has become a cherished tradition in our community! This year’s race will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

The Bridge the Gap to Health Race is not just a race; it is a unifying effort that brings together individuals, families, and businesses for the greater good of our community. Over the years, our event has served as a platform to promote personal health, foster connections among friends and family, and, most importantly, address pressing needs within our community.

The mission of the Bridge the Gap to Heath Race is to help ‘bridge the gap’ of a need in our community. The YWCA Supportive Housing Program is pivotal in assisting a vulnerable population in need of shelter. By providing financial support to the YWCA Supportive Housing Program, we aim to move individuals and families off the streets and into an educational program that imparts valuable life skills. This hands-on approach goes beyond providing shelter; it offers guidance and support from dedicated case managers who help individuals meet critical goals, such as achieving financial independence, strengthening family bonds, and making informed decisions for their future.

We invite you to register you and your family today! Enjoy the 5K walk/run, 10K, Half Marathon, or the Paul Arndt Kids Fun Run!

Market Mile

The Market Mile is a community-based, one-mile walk/run that invites you to give back and have fun doing it!

Beyond the promise of sunny summer weather, a one-mile course straight down Market Street, the “take it at your own pace” vibes and a buzzing after-party at Union Station, the Market Mile is different because it’s powering up the nonprofits who work tirelessly on the future of our city.

The Market Mile serves St. Louis through core areas of need: accessible green spaces, safe housing and public safety. These pillars will change as time goes on, but for our inaugural year, we sought four race beneficiaries whose missions aligned with these core needs.

Run for ALD, Cure the Boys

Knockout ALD is proud to present our 7th Annual Run for ALD, Cure the Boys, a 5K/1 mile run/walk homegrown event, (with a virtual option!) the only one of its kind in the St. Louis area that raises awareness and funds for adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). ALD is a very progressive rare disease that affects about 1 in 17,000 boys, many of whom suffer severe neurological symptoms that often result in death if undiagnosed and not treated very early. Our event is inspired by the vision of our son Nicholas who had a successful bone marrow transplant to halt the progression of his cerebral ALD at the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital (a world leader in transplants and ALD research). In order to initiate and continue life-saving research, the University of Minnesota Leukodystrophy Center depends on charitable donations. 100% of the funds raised from the 7th Annual Run for ALD will directly benefit the University of Minnesota's Leukodystrophy Center for ALD Research to support their research efforts for early identification, more effective therapy and treatment options, and hopefully one day a cure for this devastating disease. Knockout ALD is very close to surpassing $200,000 in lifetime donations to ALD research at the U of M!

Bridge the Gap to Health

Registration for the 23rd annual Quincy Medical Group (QMG) Bridge the Gap Race is now open, and we're excited to announce the bridges are back! The 5K, 10K and Half Marathon routes are returning to cross over the bridge into Missouri before crossing back into Illinois for the finish. This year's event will take place on Saturday, May 13.

In addition to the 5K, 10K, and half marathon, the Paul Arndt Kids Fun is back again. If you can't join us in person on May 13, you can participate virtually and get the race swag while completing your chosen distance anytime during race weekend.

Thirsty Thursday 5K Series

Fleet Feet St. Louis & Good News Brewing will once again host a series of timed 5K pub runs so we can enjoy two of our favorite activities: running and beer! One Thursday a month from April through October, we will have a professionally timed race on the Katy Trail from Good News Brewing in Defiance, MO. The course will be an out and back on the Katy Trail with an open start line format to allow for social distancing and commute times. All registrants 21 & older will receive a free beer from Good News for some post-race refreshment, and Good News will also be offering extended bar hours and a pizza buffet for purchase. We also have some sweet swag available for purchase during registration. Sign up now to join us on one (or more!) of our Thirsty Thursday 5Ks!
